A closed Gardner-White Furniture that has sat vacant for about two years will reopen this week as a discount shopping destination in Macomb Township, store officials said Tuesday.

Oakland Mall owner Mario Kiezi and business partner Kelsey Bashi will open Red Tag at 45300 Hayes Road, just north of Hall Road (M-59), in the Crosswinds Corner Shopping Center.

According to a news release, the discount retailer will carry a variety of overstock, surplus and returned items from Target at reduced prices. Merchandise includes electronics, clothing, home goods and more in the 45,000-square-foot store.

By sourcing overstock and returned items from Target, Red Tag is able to provide “significant” price reductions to customers, Bashi stated in a release.

“In a time when online shopping often dominates, Red Tag offers a unique opportunity for shoppers to find incredible discounts,” he said. “Perfect timing for back-to-school-shopping, Red Tag is here to help families save even more.”

Truckloads of new items marked down up to 90% off will be filling the storefront. The merchandise will be set-up in bins, offering a treasure-hunt-like experience that changes everyday.

Red Tag is scheduled to open Friday.  Store hours at 10 a.m.-6 p.m. every day except Thursday, their reset day, where hours are 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
