The Sylvania Township Board of Zoning Appeals has granted a conditional use permit for developing a self-storage location at the former Giant Eagle store site, 6930 West Central Ave., the township announced.
Plans call for the 90,000 square-foot building to be renovated into climate-controlled self-storage units. Those are permitted under the property’s current commercial zoning, the township said in its announcement, adding that a conditional use permit is required for outside storage.
Plans call for about 40 spaces to the north and northeast of the building to be reserved for that purpose.
The board of zoning Appeals also approved a conditional use permit for outside storage for Brint Electric, 7829 West Central, the township said.
The permit is for 1.4 acres of a parcel owned by Brint. It will be used for the storage of business vehicles and equipment for that company, the announcement said.
