SPOTLIGHT: PETER WALOCKO
This year, one of our founding principles, Peter Walocko was honored at the First Division Museum at Cantigny in Wheaton, IL. Chosen as one of six out of 100,000 Vietnam Veterans, he spent two hours with a camera crew recounting his experiences in the Vietnam War and became part of the Soldier’s Story – Interactive Exhibit on display now in the museum.
Peter served two years as a Medic in the Army. Known affectionately as “Doc” by his fellow soldiers, Peter spent seven months in Vietnam as a Senior Medic in the Charlie Company of the First Infantry Division and was awarded a purple heart for his heroism and bravery. Since his time in the Army, Peter has gone on to become a successful commercial real estate broker and has received several annual awards from Signature Associates including Stellar Performance, Most Improved, and Top Overall Sales.
The Charlie Company has been featured in two books published by the First Division Museum: Dogface Charlie (2018) and Swamp Rats, released this past Spring. Each book details the experiences of the Charlie Company veterans and Peter tells his story in Swamp Rats. Signature Associates would like to thank Peter and all those who have served for their courage and sacrifice in the name of our country.
If you’re interested in reading their stories, both books can be found on Amazon or ordered directly from the First Division Museum at https://www.fdmuseum.org/bookstore/.
